Job Description

We are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to work within our well established Kirkcaldy office reporting directly to Managers and Partners. The position will be to work with our clients and provide support with bookkeeping, management accounts, year end accounts and assist with management of outsourcing processes.

We are a top 15 accountancy firm specialising within the owner managed business area across the UK. A well-established firm since the 1930's with an entrepreneurial and dynamic feel who are continuing to grow nationally as well as regionally.

The Accounts Assistant role is offering a competitive salary, progression within the team and study support if required.

The Accounts Assistant duties will be:

  • Working closely with clients to ensure accurate bookkeeping is carried out
  • Sales ledger and purchase ledger processing
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Invoicing
  • Preparing management accounts
  • Month end and year end processing
  • Journals - both preparing and processing
  • Preparation of month end reports
  • Preparation of summary (quarterly) management accounts and commentary
  • Preparing year end accounts
  • Preparing accounts to trial balance including all reconciliations
  • Preparation and review of statutory accounts
  • Managing outsourcing processes and communication
  • Ability to manage outsourcing of work to third party including co-ordination of processes, management of overall delivery, review of output and time scheduling


Experience

  • Previous experience as an accounts assistant within an accounting firm
  • Experience of dealing with clients directly
  • Knowledge of Sage Accounts 50 required, Iris , Kashflow and Xero preferred
  • Skills in Microsoft Excel and Word necessary

Qualifications

Qualified to AAT level or equivalent as a minimum
