Job Description

Audit and Accounts Senior
We are a Top 15 UK Chartered Accountancy firm looking to expand our strong presence in Wales by recruiting an ambitious qualified accountant to join our Audit and Accounts team.
This is a perfect fit for anyone who is feeling stuck in their current role and wants to expand their horizons, or someone who simply wants to adopt a current and relevant way of interacting with businesses within a firm which prides itself on recognising and rewarding effort.

The Role
A key requirement of the role will be the ability to take responsibility for all aspects of an audit assignment from planning to fieldwork and through to completion and provide a completed audit file for manager/partner review.
You will be responsible for the supervision of junior staff and will need to be able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. You will be encouraged to use your technical knowledge to identify areas for improvement/efficiency.
The role also offers non-audit assignments that are reportable directly to partner level, as well as preparing tax computations for businesses and individuals, and occasional opportunities to work with our Corporate Finance and Forensics team.

Why us?
Haines Watts Wales embraced technology four years ago and is a paperless environment to work within. Our systems are cloud based and as such we are able to offer flexible working solutions where staff need to work remotely, for example during the current lockdown period. We constantly review the products available to ensure we stay at the forefront of technological solutions for our client base.
We value both the personal and the commercial elements of each staff member.
We have developed a great benefits package with offers ranging from vehicle discounts to reduced restaurant bills. We operate an agile working day with core hours between 9:30 and 16:30 allowing staff the choice of when their day starts and ends, as well as flexed working days when required.
As a training office, we recognise the importance of continued professional development. We offer a large range of training courses to keep current knowledge up to date as well as courses which concentrate on the softer skills.
We have staff led groups to ensure we strive for continuous improvement in all areas of our business and encourage all staff members to get involved.
Where possible we promote from within, so progression is always available for discussion.
The successful applicant should expect a market rate salary attached to the role above.

ACA/ACCA qualified.

Overview of the Role and experience
Haines Watts Wales has a wide and diverse client base with clients ranging from Takeaways through to groups with multil-million turnover. We only act for Owner Managed Businesses which enables us to develop good working relationships with the owners themselves and also therefore offers opportunities for our seniors to liaise directly as well.
Our clients include incorporated and unincorporated entities, and encompass many sectors including retail, manufacturing, property as well as specialising in charities, housing associations, solicitors and medical practices.
The successful candidate will need to be able to run audits under current UK GAAP as well as understanding how accounts are prepared from prime records. A good working knowledge of accounting software and Office 365 is essential for the role.

We look forward to hearing from you and welcome the chance to discuss how we can work together in the future.
