We are recruiting for an Audit and Accounts Trainee to join our 2020 trainee programme in our M25 region with Trainees to be working in one of our following offices, Finchley, Central London, Slough and Esher.

The position would suit university graduates who are looking to start their career within the accountancy field. The position will be to work with our clients, provide support with year-end accounts, and audit reporting directly to Managers and Partners.

The Audit and Accounts Trainee duties will be:

Accounts preparation:

  • Prepare analyses and make postings using the firm's accounting software;
  • Produce straightforward draft financial statements in statutory format using the firm's accounting software;
  • Complete disclosure checklists for companies preparing accounts under UK GAAP;

Audit:

  • Prepare audit planning documentation for review by the supervisor;
  • Carry out internal control, system and walkthrough tests;
  • Attend simple stock stakes;
  • Carry out basic audit tests as part of a team in relation to other statutory or non-statutory audits and due diligence work;

Other:

  • Prepare annual returns and other documents for filing with Companies House;
  • Complete company statutory books;
  • Identify basic tax adjustments arising from accounts production and audit work;
  • Prepare simple corporation tax returns using the firm's taxation software;

Experience

  • Skills in Microsoft Excel and Word necessary

Qualifications

  • 1 or above in any degree discipline (attained or expected)
  • Minimum of 112 UCAS Points (based on the new UCAS Tariff)
  • GCSE Grade B [Level 6] or above in English Language and Maths
