Position: Credit Controller

Location: Northampton (NN4)

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum (+ a generous, flexible bonus package)

About the role:

The primary objective of the Credit Controller to facilitate the collection of debt owed to Haines Watts. The Credit Controller will handle the collection of finances and the resolution of account queries, raising sales invoices and issuing credit notes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of debtor's ledger
  • Liaising with clients to facilitate the inflow of funds
  • Escalating problematic debts within the provided guidelines
  • Reduction and minimization of aging debt
  • Meeting pre-determined targets in respect of cash collection, reduction of debt and call volumes
  • Weekly and monthly management reporting
  • Liaising with clients and relationship holders to ensure invoices are raised and settled within the company's guidelines
  • First point of contact with regards to potential fee funding for clients
  • Primary contact with solicitors regarding problematic debts
  • Liaise with the Finance assistant with regards to allocations and adjustments on the Sales Ledger
  • Liaise with the Finance assistant with regards to 75-day debt letters
  • Adjustment on the sales ledger when necessary
  • Compile and circulate weekly and monthly management reports
  • Query and issue resolution
  • Posting Cash when necessary

About you:

  • Experience in working in a credit control environment for minimum 2 years
  • Commercial acumen and influencing skills are a key part of the role
  • Demonstration of experience in effective sales ledger management
