We are recruiting for a diverse Head of People to be responsible for over 300 staff across 12 offices with 16 different business mainly within the M25 region but also covering Thames Valley and West Midlands. You will be supporting the Regional Managing Partners on the People Team strategy whilst designing and implementing Partner development programs and support throughout the business.

Due to growth within the largest and most progressive region of Haines Watts we are looking for highly skilled entrepreneurial individuals to join to the team to assist us in achieving our strategic goal of being the number one advisor to owner managed businesses.

This role will included regional travel to each office on a regular basis mainly within the M25 region and occasional travel to Thames Valley and West Midlands.

The Head of People duties will be:

  • Continual development of the People Agenda and strategy to ensure initiatives deliver strategic and business goals. Deliver growth- ensuring we are attracting the highest quality people, ensuring they are effective on commencement (on boarding) and progressing (development)
  • Identify insight and trends from the external market and established networks to drive the people proposition
  • Leading the M25 regional People Team and overseeing local HR teams in Thames Valley and West Midlands, managing a team of 4 within the People Team
  • Working closely with Regional Management team on new People initiatives
  • Design and implement Partner development workshops and programs
  • Business Partner with key Managing Partners in each office to support Partner coaching and development
  • Maintaining awareness and knowledge of contemporary People development theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to partners, managers and staff within the organisation
  • Contributing to the evaluation and development of People strategy and performance in cooperation with the executive team
  • Ensure best use of resources across the business in order to deliver margin improvement and key strategic priorities
  • Managing and controlling departmental expenditure within agreed budgets
  • Oversee employment related issues and talent and development processes within the team
  • Liaising with other functional/departmental managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of People development, influencing others to remove barriers to organisational change.
  • Monitoring, measuring and reporting on HR issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales
  • Ensuring that the firms remain legally compliant regarding changes in employment law
  • Ensuring mergers and acquisitions are conducted in a legally compliant and procedurally efficient way, minimising the impact to partners and staff
  • Oversee implementation of new HRIS system

Experience

  • Previous experience of a strategic People role within a Medium sized organisation
  • Preferably have worked within a professional services partnership environment
  • Experience of managing multiple businesses, locations and stakeholders an advantage
