Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a results-focused marketing and communications assistant to work with a leading accountancy firm in the North East.

We are looking for an ambitious self-starter, who will help to implement our marketing and communication strategy as we continue to grow and increase our presence in the region. The right individual will bring their flair, creativity, and knowledge of marketing to our organisation and support us to deliver on our growth objectives.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate a passion for and understanding of all aspects of the marketing mix. You will be a savvy wordsmith with the desire to seize the initiative, a natural communicator who is happy to engage in dialogue on and off-line, and a lateral thinker who is keen to contribute ideas.

This is a hands-on role with a requirement for tangible output. Whilst some experience is desirable, we are interested in talking to ambitious graduates who can demonstrate the application of these skills in part-time, internship or work experience roles.

Training opportunities are available.

Key elements of the role:

  • Implementing our marketing strategy in a timely and coordinated fashion, with the key objective of generating leads and opportunities for the partners in the business.
  • Liaising with key partners and managers in the business to help identify and recognise PR and marketing opportunities, and develop relevant and timely marketing content.
  • Building, managing and curating a rich content calendar which educates and entertains our target audience.
  • Creating and editing marketing materials for a variety of online and offline campaigns (presentations, flyers, press releases, factsheets, case studies, infographics etc.).
  • Following up on opportunities which arise from social media, campaigns and events with the aim of generating warm leads and purposeful meetings for senior managers.
  • Researching and identifying relevant local marketing and PR opportunities.
  • Assisting with the monitoring and reporting of KPI's across the business.
  • Updating spreadsheets and databases with client and prospect information
  • Liaising with agencies and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring a coordinated approach to networking, marketing, and social media across our team, offering support as required.

Specific skills/experience required:

  • Ideally a graduate with a relevant degree (or CIM qualification).
  • Exceptional writer with an excellent command of the English language.
  • Great interpersonal skills and a natural communicator.
  • Strong understanding of social media, specifically LinkedIn and Twitter.
  • An interest in the entrepreneurial, B2B environment would be highly desirable.
  • Ability to interpret and use data analytics to improve content and campaign performance.
  • A self-starter with good initiative and ability to work on your own.
  • Well organised, with ability to multi-task and good time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Any additional experience with platforms such as InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, Hootsuite, and WordPress would be extremely favourable.
