Senior Bookkeeper/ Management Accountant in Aylesbury at Haines Watts

We are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper/ Management Accountant to join our team in Aylesbury.

This role is offering a highly competitive salary, progression within the team and study support if required.

We are a top 15 accountancy firm specialising within the owner managed business area across the UK. A well-established firm since the 1930's with an entrepreneurial and dynamic feel who are continuing to grow nationally as well as regionally.

This role will be a mix of administrative and client facing duties, and provides an opportunity to develop your client management experience, reporting and bookkeeping skills within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Duties include:

• Prepare quarterly management audits for clients of varying sizes
• Prepare VAT returns for a range of clients
• Use cloud-based software to input client's base records
• Reconcile client bank accounts, VAT, and other balance sheet items
• Manage a portfolio of clients and ensure all VAT records are requested, and returns prepared and submitted within deadlines
• Analyse client's income and expenditure ensuring all items are consistently and correctly coded in the profit or loss account and balance sheet
• Communicate with clients regarding queries
• Review client VAT workings as applicable

Your experience ideally will include:

• AAT or qualified by experience with 5+ years' experience
• Strong compliance VAT knowledge and can apply this knowledge to a variety of
• Experience with Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks
• Excellent written and verbal skills communicating with colleagues and clients.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills
• Self-motivated with an ability to manage your own workload
• Ability to work well with others and build good working relationships
