Job Description

We are recruiting for a Tax and Accounts trainee to work within our Esher office.

This position would suit school, college and university leavers who are looking to start their careers within the accountancy field. The position will be to work with our clients and provide support with year-end accounts and tax.

We are a top 15 accountancy firm specialising within the owner managed business area across the UK. A well-established firm since the 1930's with an entrepreneurial and dynamic feel who are continuing to grow nationally as well as regionally.

The Tax and Accounts trainee role is offering a competitive salary, progression within the team and study support within AAT or ATT.

The Tax and Accounts Trainee duties will be:

  • Preparation of personal tax returns
  • Reviewing client records and extracting information required for tax purposes, including the preparation of P11Ds and PSAs;
  • Produce straightforward draft financial statements in statutory format using the firm's accounting software;
  • Complete disclosure checklists for companies preparing accounts under UK GAAP;
  • Complete company statutory books;
  • Identify basic tax adjustments arising from accounts production and audit work;
  • Prepare simple corporation tax returns using the firm's taxation software;
  • Ad hoc administrative duties as needed by the Tax Manager
  • Monitor chargeability of weekly basis

Experience

  • Skills in Microsoft Excel and Word necessary

Qualifications

  • 3 A levels at grade C or equivalent and above
  • Looking to study AAT or ATT
