Exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager progression to Tax Partner for the right candidate.

You will be responsible for the all aspects of the management of the compliance and basic planning work undertaken for clients of the practice on an ad-hoc and annual basis.


The key duties of this role include:

  • You will be responsible for controlling on an annual basis all tax compliance work and ensuring that all internal and client based and legislative deadlines are met.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that the firm's standard processes are used in the production of compliance tax work and ensuring that technical standards are maintained.

    * You will be responsible for the management of the tax team and ensure they are engaged and understand the team and business objectives. You will plan and review work to be undertaken on client matters by the team and you will be responsible for its review and progress.

    * You will responsible for ensuring that client handling partners and senior managers are kept fully informed on the monthly progress of the work areas you are responsible for.

    * You will be expected to be able to write professional letters, reports and other written submissions for review by senior managers/partners for use with clients and other relevant third parties.

    * You will be expected to generate new advisory tax work.

    * You will be expected to professionally represent the firm and its interests in dealing with clients and other professionals.

    * You will be expected to actively take part in Haines Watts Manager Workshops and keep your training and knowledge up to date. You will also seek out opportunities to further develop your knowledge to keep up to date with legislation and best practice.

    * You may be required to take part in the recruitment and selection of team members

    * You will be responsible for ensuring that staff within your department are allocated to and attend the correct training courses and take an active role.

    * You will be expected to contact clients in connection with non-technical issues such as the collection of debts and be involved on an ongoing basis in administrative activities such as billing and monitoring of internal key performance indicators.

    * You will be expected to seek opportunities to increase client billings and to seek new clients for the practice where possible.

    * You will from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities as required by management and directors.

    * You will be expected to have and maintain a working knowledge of the systems and processes needed to do your job

    * You will keep up-to-date with internal communications, policies and procedures and ensure anyone reporting to you does the same.

    * You will also be required to get involved in other tasks as needed.
