Tax Semi-Senior/Senior - Farnborough

We are recruiting for a Tax Semi-Senior/Senior to work within our Farnborough office. The role would be part tax based, part accounts based and part admin and would suit someone who is ATT or AAT qualified, ideally with some practical experience and background in both accounts and tax or general practice work.

Due to growth within the largest and fastest growing region of Haines Watts, we are looking for highly skilled entrepreneurial individuals to join to the team to assist us in achieving our strategic goal of being the number one advisor to owner managed businesses.

We are a top 15 accountancy firm specialising within the owner managed business area across the UK. A well-established firm since the 1930's with an entrepreneurial and dynamic feel who are continuing to grow nationally as well as regionally.

The Tax Semi-Senior/Senior duties will be to assist our tax consultants in:

  • Gathering information to be able to answer client questions / assisting with preparing tax clearances etc.
  • Obtaining information from Xero / accounting software.
  • Start researching technical points.
  • Preparing drafts of personal / corporate tax returns.
  • Preparing simple accounts (rental statements / sole trader accounts / tax computations etc.).
  • Preparing personal tax calculations using excel, for example, non-standard and often complex CGT calculations.
  • Preparing draft emails for review - these could be standard emails such as confirmation statements / reviewing tax codes/sending documents to client for approval or ad hoc.
  • Liaising with other staff members to ascertain status of accounts information / set up Xero records / providing information to and from accounts team / management accounts etc.
  • Checking to ascertain what information is held and what is outstanding on jobs / status of jobs and drafting emails to clients / other staff members.
  • Liaising with admin / accounts dept. in relation to billing / engagement letters etc.


Minimum 2-3 years' experience working in a tax environment


Ideally ATT (and/or AAT) Qualified
