We are recruiting for a Tax Senior to work within our Colchester office. This is predominantly a corporate tax compliance role with occasional personal tax. The role will involve contributing to the provision of an excellent range of tax services to a diverse set of clients and providing support for the Partners. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate initiative and good judgement when carrying out tasks on the client's behalf.

The Tax Senior duties will be:

  • Being the first point of contact for a portfolio of clients
  • Preparing annual tax returns (Individuals, Partnerships, Trusts, Non-Resident Companies, and Forms P11Ds/PSAs) and managing the client lists in order to meet the submission deadlines
  • Obtaining missing information from the client, third parties or within the firm as appropriate
  • Dealing with annual reporting for Form 42 and ATED
  • Reviewing Corporation Tax Returns and Corporation Tax Computations prepared by the accounts team
  • Advising clients on tax liabilities as they become due
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities for clients (individuals, businesses, companies, etc.)
  • Electronically filing tax returns
  • Assisting in dealing with Enquiries raised by HMRC
  • Preparing other forms etc. as required by HMRC or other third parties
  • Monitoring chargeability on a weekly basis
  • Assisting the Partners with various ad hoc work as it arises such as technical research, reorganisations, reconstructions, transfer pricing and R&D claims


  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience working in a tax environment


  • ATT Qualified
