We are recruiting a VAT Assistant/VAT Senior to work within our Worcester office, to support the VAT team with VAT compliance as well as VAT advisory projects

Due to growth within the Worcester Office we are looking for highly skilled entrepreneurial individuals to join to the team to assist us in achieving our strategic goal of being the number one advisor to owner managed businesses.

  • Experience of working with OMB/SME private companies
  • Understanding of accounting treatment of transactions
  • Basic understanding of key VAT knowledge areas, such as treatment of international transactions, partial exemption and land and property

The duties will include:

VAT compliance

  • Prepare, analyses and make postings using the firm's accounting software;
  • Preparation of VAT return's for submission to HMRC
  • Understand of Making Tax Digital filing requirements to ensure clients remain compliant
  • Liaising with HMRC in respect of VAT enquiries
  • Assistance with VAT registration applications
  • Communicating with HMRC on various matters

VAT Advisory

  • Assisting colleagues with general ad-hoc VAT queries
  • Supporting VAT team on delivery of VAT advisory projects
  • Assistance with client VAT Reviews (including onsite visits where required)


  • Attendance at other offices within the region where required;


  • AAT / ATT part qualified/qualified

The VAT Assistant/Senior will have the following skills:

  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills
