We are recruiting for a highly skilled entrepreneurial individual to join the team to assist us in achieving our strategic goal of being the number one advisor to owner managed business.

We are a top 15 accountancy firm specialising within the owner managed business area across the UK. A well-established firm since the 1930's with an entrepreneurial and dynamic feel who are continuing to grow nationally as well as regionally.

The Accounts Senior will contribute towards a positive culture in the firm which is currently being developed through preparation of a Personal Development Plan.

You must have at least three years experience within practice to be considered for the role as the right candidate will need to be able to work independently, with some/limited support, from day one.

The Accounts Senior duties will be:

  • Management and delivery of statutory accounts & corporation tax assignments
  • Supervise, delegate and review work of juniors
  • Deliver information to client in timely manner and effective relationship building with clients
  • Display in depth client and technical knowledge
  • Identify cross selling opportunities
  • Manage client communication in effective manner
  • Monitor chargeability on a weekly basis
  • Identify where there are shortfalls of work to cover chargeability and alert Managers
  • Communicate to management progress on workload and plan for efficient completion


  • Experience of preparing company accounts under new UK GAAP and knowledge of disclosure requirements (FRS102 & FRS105)
  • Experience of preparing corporation tax returns
  • Experience of preparing accounts for sole traders and partnerships and a basic understanding of the tax legislation for both
  • Experience of preparing VAT returns
  • Experience of preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts for clients in a timely manner
  • Experience in managing and maintaining client relationships and communicating effectively with clients
  • Leadership experience - managing, delegating work to and assisting in the development of junior staff
  • Experience of producing budgets for jobs and of monitoring and controlling jobs against budgets
  • Experience of working with Sage, Quickbooks and other commonly used accounting software preferred including cloud based systems such as Xero


ACA/ACCA finalist or qualified
