AUDIT/ACCOUNTS SENIOR

An Audit/Accounts Senior has a drive to achieve results. Will take a reflective and probing, problem solving approach to the role and have an eye for detail in order to maintain quality standards. The role requires someone who has sound technical knowledge and skills and can be relied upon for their persistence and the ability to see a job through to conclusion.

Seniors should be driven, thorough, systematic and enjoy working within clearly defined work parameters.

Overview of the Role

Responsible for audit and preparation of accounts assignments, reporting to the job manager. A key requirement of the role will be the ability to take responsibility for all aspects of the audit including planning, fieldwork and completion and provide a completed audit file for manager/partner review.

You will be responsible for the supervision of junior staff and will need to be able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. You will be expected to use your technical knowledge to identify areas for improvement/efficiency.

Responsibilities

Audit

  • Plan audit assignments
  • Conduct onsite audit fieldwork in accordance with the agreed plan
  • Complete all aspects of the electronic audit file
  • Supervise and help develop more junior members of the team

Accounts

  • Prepare full statutory accounts under FRS 102, including all required disclosures
  • If required produce draft tax computations and a provision for inclusion in the accounts.
  • Prepare full supporting working papers

Other/General

  • You will be expected to plan and control your professional work for the firm's clients within the firm's standard procedures.
  • You will be expected to identify and act upon any opportunities you see within the professional work you do to sell more services to existing prospective clients.
  • You will be expected to have and maintain a working knowledge of the computer based programs that you will be required to use to undertake your job and will report any requirements for assistance or training to your line manager.
  • To professionally represent the firm and its interests in dealings with clients and other professionals at all times.
  • Regular attendance at Haines Watts led training and seminars to further develop and maintain your technical and personal development skills.
  • You will keep up-to-date with internal policies, procedures and announcements.
