Position: Building Surveyor

Location: South East Midlands Region - Northampton (NN4)

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum inclusive of car allowance (+ a generous, flexible benefit package)

About the role:

The Building Surveyor will work in the growing Property Team working alongside the Head of Property, and various internal teams, dealing with commercial property matters across a variety of property sectors and clients to provide a comprehensive, efficient and a professional service.

Key Responsibilities:

Lease Dilapidations Management:

Preparing Schedules of Dilapidation on behalf of Landlord clients and responding to them on behalf of Tenant clients.

Negotiating settlements or managing work programmes as appropriate.

Project Management:

Managing refurbishment and building works programmes for clients

Capital Allowance Site Surveys:

Site surveys to ascertain items within new & existing buildings that attract Capital Allowances to integrate with our Tax projects.

About you:

  • At least 3 years practical experience is advantageous.
  • Have a practical approach.
  • Have good relationship skills.
  • Be achievement focused.
  • Be keen to drive their personal development.
  • Be proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Be technology focused and able to adapt to multiple or new systems.
  • Hold a full driving licence and be comfortable driving to client sites

Specifically the role will require experience and skills in:

  • Quantity Surveying
  • Embedded Capital Allowances
  • General Building Surveying
  • Dilapidations

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be a Member of the RICS or working towards qualification, albeit this is not mandatory.

The role is Northampton based with regular travel to client sites across the relevant regions and occasional travel further afield.
