Position: Credit Controller

Location: Northampton (NN4)

(Commutable from Wellingborough, Kettering, Bedford, Milton Keynes and surrounding areas)

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum (+ a generous, flexible package including annual review of PRP)

About the role:

The primary objective of the Credit Controller is to facilitate the collection of debt owed to Haines Watts. The Credit Controller will handle the collection of finances and the resolution of account queries, raising sales invoices and issuing credit notes.

Responsibilities:

- Management of debtor ledger

- Liaising with clients to facilitate the inflow of funds

- Reduction and minimisation of aging debt and escalating problematic debts within the provided guidelines

- Meeting pre-determined targets in respect of cash collection, reduction of debt and call volumes

- Liaising with clients and relationship holders to ensure invoices are raised and settled within the company guidelines

- Liaise with the Finance Assistant with regards to allocations and adjustments on the Sales Ledger and 75 day debt letters

- Compile and circulate weekly and monthly management reports.

About you:

- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a credit control environment

- Commercial acumen and influencing skills are essential

- Demonstration of experience in effective sales ledger management

- Excellent skills in:

  • Listening- interpretation and action of information
  • Negotiating and influencing.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure

- A well-developed understanding of a customer & service-led environment that supports multiple sectors and cultures

- High level of proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Dynamics, Excel & PowerPoint

- Willingness to work out of all regional offices and to travel according to the needs of the role
