Position: Finance Senior

Location: Northampton, NN4 7YB

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the role:

This role is ideal for someone with 3 to 5 years' experience in a finance/bookkeeping role, ideally, part qualified, with the ambition and drive to push forward and take on more responsibility as the business grows. There will be more junior members of the team who will look to this individual for support and guidance, so the ability to work well as part of a team is just as essential as the technical ability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the finance manager with month-end preparation with key workings and journals
  • Reviewing the transactions coded during the month for completeness and accuracy
  • Providing support and cover to the accounts payable and credit control team
  • Support from time to time with credit control chasing
  • Preparation of monthly payrolls
  • Review of supplier payment runs
  • Ad-hoc month end duties

About you:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a finance/bookkeeping role
  • Qualified or working towards an accounting qualification would be highly beneficial
  • Experience of using Xero, Approval Max and Receipt Bank is desirable, but not essential
  • Proactive, forward-thinking person with a positive attitude
  • Excellent time management and able to prioritise their workload
  • Strong in character and work well in a team environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and respond promptly to requests
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Computer literate; keyboard skills, proficiency in Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint
