This position would suit school or college leavers as well as newly qualified AAT members. The position will be to work with our clients and provide support with tax compliance.

You will be part of an established tax team that provides an outstanding quality of service to clients. The role includes assisting the tax team with entry level work, progressing to more technical tasks as experience and training is developed.

You will have the opportunity to both contribute to and share in the success of this team. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of clients across a variety of sectors and liaise with our colleagues in other teams to provide a high quality service to our clients.

The key duties of this role include:-

  • Preparation of simple personal tax returns
  • Providing assistance to members of the tax team which may include by example, preparation of spreadsheets.
  • Drafting communications to clients and HM Revenue & Customs
  • Checking PAYE notices of coding
  • Completion of forms P11D
  • To respond in a timely and accurate manner to client queries
  • To keep supervisor / manager informed of case progress and any issues arising
  • To raise profile of the firm by ensuring clients are fully satisfied by the service they receive
  • Have an awareness of the various services provided by Haines Watts
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with both clients and the wider Haines Watts team
  • Attend all training courses as required
  • Completion of ATT training

Academic Requirements -

  • Should have obtained good A Levels or equivalent

Subject to successful completion of probation period, we will fund for you to study towards the ATT qualification, with the prospect of further support for the CTA qualification.

You will receive a full study package and have time off to attend college. We support all of our trainees with a blended approach to training and development including classroom study, 1:1 coaching, and skills training to enable you to progress to management and leadership positions.

We also operate a number of in-house training courses which will give you the technical insight to keep up with changes in legislation and case law.
